Varro ranks every lift you log against 100,000+ real lifts. Novice to Monster — per exercise, not just a number in a spreadsheet.
The ladder
Bench, squat, curls, hip thrusts — each one carries its own rank, with sub-levels inside every tier. There's always a next step.
The number nobody else gives you
Every tracker tells you what you lifted. Varro tells you what it means. Each PR is scored against a growing pool of 100,000+ logged lifts, so you get a straight answer instead of a graph you have to interpret.
Not vanity — calibration. You find out which lifts are genuinely strong and which ones you've been quietly avoiding for two years.
Shown on every new PR
"I found the app on Reddit and have been using it since the start. I love the clean design and being able to push and compare with friends live during workouts."
Ranked PRs
Log the set, get the answer. Varro shows the tier you just unlocked, how far you are into it, and exactly what percentile that lift puts you in. Progressive overload stops being an abstraction — it becomes a ladder you can see yourself climbing.
Ranked Bodygraph
Front and back, every muscle group colour-coded by the rank you've actually earned there. Chest glowing Elite while your posterior chain sits grey is the most useful training feedback you'll get all year — and it takes one glance.
Track
Sets, reps, volume and rest timer in a layout built for one hand and a chalky grip. Underneath every exercise sits the friend comparison — what your training partner did on this exact movement, and whether you just beat it.
Squad — optional
Once you know your own rank, the obvious next question is how it holds up against the people you train with. A private squad shows who hit their week and who hasn't shown up in nine days, with head-to-head comparison on any exercise.
Everything stays inside the squad. No public feed, no follower count, no performing for strangers.
Also included
Tell Varro your goal, days per week and equipment. Get a split built for you, with smart progression — or bring your own routine.
Every movement with video, images and a written breakdown. Filter by muscle or equipment, or add your own.
Weekly set volume per muscle group, calibrated to your training age. When a rank won't budge, this is usually why.

FAQ
Every exercise in Varro has its own rank — Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite, Monster — with sub-levels inside each tier so progress stays granular. Your best performance on an exercise is scored against a pool of 100,000+ logged lifts, which is where the "stronger than X% of lifters" figure comes from.
Ranks are per exercise, not one blanket score. That's the point: most lifters are Advanced on one movement and Novice on another, and the gap between them is usually the fastest thing to fix.
No. Ranks, percentiles, the Bodygraph, training plans, 600+ exercises with tutorials and volume insights all work completely solo — that's the core of the app. The private squad is an optional layer for when you want to compare with people you actually train with.
The logging itself is naturally similar — a set is a set. The difference is what happens after you log it. Most trackers hand you a history and leave interpretation to you, then bolt on a social feed with followers and likes.
Varro grades every lift instead. You get a tier, a percentile and a full-body rank map, so you always know where you stand and what's lagging. Comparison is private and opt-in — your squad, not an audience of strangers.
No. Ranks are calculated from whatever you log, so you can bring your own programme, follow a coach, or freestyle it and still get a tier on every exercise.
If you'd rather not think about programming, Varro can build a split around your goal, your training days and the equipment you actually have access to — and progress it for you. That's an option, not a requirement.
Your lifts are yours. Nothing is posted publicly, there is no feed and no follower count. Your numbers are only visible to people you personally invite into your squad. Benchmarks are computed from anonymised, aggregated lift data.
